Great food, well earned prizes and wonderful art

- a successful Art Exhibition opening

· Interest Groups,About Us page

While I was basking in the Samoan sunshine, with my children and grandchildren; Wendy Harman, Marylyn Lupton, Theresa Gallacher and Sharon Taylor-Offord, assisted Margaret to stage our annual Art Exhibition. Our opening night was well attended, with 52 people tucking into the delicacies prepared by Wendy Harman. Thanks also to Justin Blakie, Heuchan Hobbs, Val Mayer and Rosemary Stokell for curating the artwork into its final form and Anne and Tom Lumb for pouring drinks. We appreciate the support of our prize sponsors; Gordon Harris, French Art Shop and Wellington Photographic Supplies. The range and quality of the work was excellent and a credit to those who developed it. Michael Mc Cormack an artist from Island Bay and Fred Wootton from Hutt Camera Club had a challenging task to narrow down their winners from an initial short list. Congratulations to our winners and to all those who contributed. Sadly, I returned from Samoa to the news of Frances Stone’s death. Frances and her husband Harry have been stalwarts of the Karori community, and KAC, for many years and Frances will be sadly missed. Our sympathies and support are extended to Harry and his family at this time.

Thanks Brian Barrett for the super photos of the evening.
