Draw inspiration from the colourful creatures that inhabit our oceans or design your own fantastical sea creature. Use a fun paint-pulling technique to create wonderfully coloured sheets of paper. Cut, glue, fold, and curl the colourful papers into fabulous underwater creatures!

Thursday 25 September

Explore the joys of two different types of weaving, kumihimo, the traditional Japanese cord making, and branch weaving. Use a kumihimo disk to make a friendship bracelet or a fancy cord for your favourite hoodie. Make a one-of-a-kind loom from a branched stick. Use the loom to experiment with colours and textures to create a unique weaving.

Pick up a piece of driftwood and let the inner creature emerge! Bring to life a simple piece of driftwood. Build an environment for your creature to live in...maybe even a pet and a set of toys.

Tuesday 30 September
Afternoon Session

Channel your inner architect and create fanciful cityscapes using found-object printing. Make one-of-a-kind prints by rolling ink onto everyday objects, from kitchen spatulas to broken calculators( thanks to our friends at the Tip Shop), then print them onto paper. Find unique shapes in the prints, then cut out and collage them into a creative cityscape. Add colour with paint, pencil, and pen.

Create shadow puppets that come alive! Build a portable puppet theatre and tell stories with light and shadow.
