This is a workshop for learning and practicing spinning skills and exploring wool preparation, particularly the blending of colours and production of rolags for making yarn. We will provide an opportunity to use carders, a blending board, and a hackle and diz. Coloured wool will be provided. Attendees can expect to learn how to spin their own yarn and experiment with creating decorative art yarns.
People with any level of ability will gain something from this course. It will be structured in such a manner as to allow everyone to experiment with colours and advance their spinning skills.

I have about 40 years of experience playing with wool and wheels and hope to inspire others to discover their own talents and creativity with wool and other fibres. |
Course outcomes:
- Learn the parts of a Spinning wheel and how to adjust it.
- Practice and refine your spinning techniques
- Prepare and play with coloured fibre to produce rolags for spinning.
- Create specialist “Art Yarns”
