Spinning for Everyone - with Ruth Baldwin

$91.00 - $109.00
Sunday, 16 August
10 am to 4 pm

Winter is the perfect time to slow down, sit at a wheel, and lose yourself in the meditative rhythm of spinning. This workshop is an invitation to develop your spinning skills and explore the wonderful world of wool preparation, from smooth, refined yarns to gloriously textured art yarns full of personality.

Working with natural and coloured wools, learn to use a Hackle and Diz, explore a Blending Board to layer colours, and create rolags ready for spinning. Along the way, discover how to produce decorative art yarns with slubs, cocoons, and pigtails...the kind of yarns that are works of art in their own right.

With 40 years of experience playing with wool and wheels, Ruth brings deep knowledge, genuine passion, and a gift for inspiring others to discover their own creativity with fibre. Whether you are picking up a spindle for the first time or refining skills you already have, you will leave with new techniques, beautiful handmade yarns, and plenty of inspiration.

All skill levels welcome.
