Learn how to create a 3-coloured reduction linocut print with Printmaker Julie Moonlight.
In the reduction linocut process, a multi-coloured print is made from a single piece of lino. The lino is reduced every time a new colour is printed.
Julie will guide you through creating your own design for a 3-colour print, how to cut each layer and how to register the paper and print your edition.

About Julie Moonlight:

Julie has been passionate about printmaking, since studying it over 20 years ago. Her favourite printmaking process is linocut, which is low-tech and doesn’t require specialist equipment.  A range of patterns, marks, and textures can be created quite easily, yet the results are very individual and exciting.

In the Course:

  • Learn how to safely use lino-cutting tools and create a range of different marks that can be used in your designs
  • Learn how to plan a 3-colour design and transfer your design to linoleum
  • Learn how to go about carving each layer of your design
  • Learn how to register the paper as you print each layer of your design to produce a small, limited edition of prints
