Design your own or make your favorite D&D monster. Work in the scale of D&D monster miniatures (approximately 6-8cm tall). Design the pose and features you want your monster to have. Learn to make an armature and apply polymer clay. Work with a polymer clay called Cos Clay which remains flexible after firing allowing you to make thin, detailed sculptures. Sculpt textures for skin, fur, scales, or spikes. Learn painting techniques to give your mini-monsters a realistic look.
By the end of this term, students should have a basic knowledge of; armature, working with polymer clay, looking at anatomy, and creating textures, all culminating in the creation of a sculpted polymer clay monster for them to bring home and be proud of.
