About Ashwini Chaskar:

My art has always been a passion for me. It’s been part of my life for a long time. It helps me relax and enjoy the moment. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and empowerment.

Gratitude, on the other hand, is easy for me. As I grow old, I feel grateful for the life I am leading, my family, the successes and accomplishments. One of the reasons I like Zentangle as the method starts with gratitude and ends with gratitude.

I engage in various art forms such as urban sketching, Batik silk painting, Indian tribal art, water colours, acrylic, alcohol inks, and paper crafts such as origami and quilling.

My journey with Zentangle began in 2016 when I found a Zentangle introductory course that rekindled my passion for art. As life became busy with work and taking care of my child, I had drifted away from my creative pursuits. An advertisement for a Zentangle workshop in a local art store caught my eye, and I was immediately drawn to it. The simplicity and accessibility of Zentangle, which requires just a pen and a small piece of paper, resonated with me. I enrolled in the workshop and have never looked back since.

Zentangle has had a profound impact on my mental well-being, helping me to improve my focus, reduce stress, and regain confidence in my drawing skills. Over the years, I’ve created numerous Zentangle-inspired art pieces and am now thrilled to share this wonderful experience with others as a CZT.
