Crazy Patchwork Christmas Stocking - with Maria Champion-Forster

Crazy Patchwork Christmas Stocking - with Maria Champion-Forster

$43.00 - $51.00
Saturday, 14 November
10 am to 12:30 pm

Learn the charming crazy patchwork technique while making a small (23cm) Christmas stocking, perfect for hanging on the tree or gifting small treasures. Discover how a little fabric and a handful of scraps can come together into something beautiful. Your chosen fabrics can take your stocking from playful and childlike to elegant and grown-up. Along the way, pick up skills that go well beyond this project, like working with bias binding and finishing raw edges neatly, techniques you can carry into other projects like oven mitts and quilts.

Suitable for older teens and adults with an interest in handmade Christmas decorations.

Note: Students will begin hand-sewing the binding in class but may need to finish this step at home.

About Maria Champion-Forster

Maria Champion-Forster holds a City & Guilds Diploma in Embroidery and has had two embroidered pieces selected for exhibitions in the UK. She brings a range of teaching experience to the classroom, along with a background in hands-on knowledge-sharing from her previous career.

As Maria has grown more experienced over the years, she's found particular joy in tackling embroidery's more technical and challenging techniques. She loves passing on what she's learned, and there's nothing quite like watching someone's face light up when a technique finally clicks.
