Wet Felting - with Rowena Fry

Sunday, 8 June<br>2 pm to 6 pm<br><br>All materials are included in the cost of the class. <br><br>In this fun, physical, and very, very clean class, create a few pieces of felt - a length of felt &#39;yarn,&#39; a felt ball, and a small sheet of felt. Learn the wet felting technique that uses friction, soap, and water to create felt from wool fibers. Play with different colour combinations from a selection of colourfully dyed fleeces available for use during the workshop. Wet-felted pieces finished in class can later be used in a variety of different projects, from mobiles to jewelry and hats to pouches!

Spinning a Yarn- with Ruth Baldwin

Sunday, 15 June<br>10 am to 4 pm<br><br>This is a workshop for learning and practicing spinning skills and exploring wool preparation, particularly the blending of colours and production of rolags for making yarn. We will provide an opportunity to use carders, a blending board, and a hackle and diz. Coloured wool will be provided. Inspired by Boro - Jacket with Clare Smith

Sunday 13 April<br>10:00am to 4pm<br>Anyone interested in simple hand stitching especially sashiko and boro.<br><br>Make the panels for a simple jacket or vest with boro or kantha style running stitch. A simple jacket pattern will be provided but class participants are welcome to use their own as log as they have made a toile ( a test version) to check for fit. The panels for the jacket will be laid out separately in the class and then most of the hand - stitching will be completed at home. Sashiko and boro stitch patterns will be shown in class. There is an opportunity for students to attend the Slow stitch group at KACC to get together and work on their jacket panels. Completion of the jacket and opportunities to get help with this will be discussed in class. <br><br>It is also possible to make a wallhanging, cushion or bag in this class if you don’t have time to complete the stitching on a whole jacket. <br>
