Introduction to Lead-light Glass - with Howard Moore

$155.00 - $185.00
Wednesdays
8 October to 26 November
7 pm to 9 pm
8-week class

Learn how to cut glass and make lead-light panels. This introduction covers safety precautions and
• the techniques of cutting glass;
• choosing a design and developing it for glass;
• where to buy or find interesting glass;
• how to assemble and lead the panel;
• weatherproofing and framing; and
• how to fix mistakes.
Some of the tools are razor sharp, lead is poisonous and glass can bite, so you’ll also learn to be careful.

Think of attending if you love the play of light through coloured glass, and are familiar with knives and raising children. That background should give you an inherent understanding of the risks and the fun involved.

About Howard Moore:

I have been working in glass for the simple pleasure of it for over 15 years.  It’s a total change from office work and doesn’t involve sweat, mud, and lycra.  If the outcome is something beautiful, perhaps it will be enjoyed for decades.  If not, much of it can be recycled.
