Introduction to Drawing - Sharyn Young, Thursdays 19 October to 7 December 6:30 to 8:00pm
20.00 - 185.00
In this eight week class for teens and adults we will play with basic skills to draw a good likeness of something seen in the world.
We will improve our visual skills through analysis of shape, form, proportion and shadow. In the class you will learn to: Loosen up. Play with mark making, line quality, and texture. Examine form and perspective. Learn to look at an object like you have never seen it before. Experiment with contour drawing, negative space drawing and expressive drawing. Draw without lines.
With many years as a graphic designer in the newspaper and advertising industry, Sharyn Young has come to know drawing as a form of thinking. It is a form of viewing the world recreationally, therapeutically and commercially. Anyone can learn to draw and everyone has a need to express themselves. Drawing can be a conduit for self expression, learning, and building confidence.
