In 8 weeks Rachel will teach technique and approaches to composing landscapes or still life in a contemporary style. Learn composition, colour theory and layering with paint and mediums. Also learn to evaluate your own work and receive feedback and advice from Rachel. Returning students are welcome.
The fee includes gesso, paper, tape and mediums provided used to add texture and depth to your work. Some tools available for class use.

Vacancy Centre Manager: Our vibrant Arts and Crafts Centre seeks a Centre Manager with a “can-do mind set” superior customer service skills and a passion for creativity.

We operate as: A charitable trust where members contribute to the running costs through annual subscriptions. The centre provides a venue for people with diverse creative interests to pursue their arts and crafts. We have a comprehensive education programme for adults and children at all levels of expertise and experience.
Your potential workplace: Is a purpose-built arts' centre, which is a warm, bright environment in which to work. Close to a public transport hub, with free parking should you need that. There are all some fabulous cafes and delis in the vicinity as well.
We exist to:
promote and encourage artistic endeavors of all kinds
to arrange talks like our Magical Mystery Art Tour series on Thursday nights (see Adult Workshops for more details)
hold Exhibitions and Craft Sales of our members work - our Art Exhibition will be held on 29-31 October
support the work of other arts and craft organisations with room rental and joint ventures.
The Centre Manager is: a full time position in a busy community oriented environment. The hours are 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and are based at our Centre in 7 Beauchamp Street, Karori. The Centre Manager also supervises a part-time office administrator.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with people at all levels
Adept at using social media and website content to connect with our customers and promote our brand
Skilled in providing a positive customer service experience to all our members with patience and empathy
Experience using Xero would be an advantage, however must have experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable, online internet banking payments and sound cash management
Competent in Microsoft Office applications – Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and Publisher
Knowledge of data security and file backup procedures
We expect the successful applicant to be fully vaccinated for Covid 19 before they begin work at the centre. All applicants must also have the right to live and work in New Zealand on a permanent basis.

Purchases and Enrolments
All purchases and enrolments on our website www.kacc.org.nz are subject to confirmation from Karori Arts and Crafts. You will receive an email confirming completion of your order or purchase. Once this confirmation is received any cancelations and refunds will be as specified by our Refund policy below.
All prices on our website are in New Zealand dollars and include GST if applicable.
No classes or workshops are held on public holidays.
Payments can be made by deposit into our bank account specified in our email to the address provided by you when ordering. Payments are required within 48 hours. Any payments not received within this time may result in your order being cancelled.
Creditcard payments may also be made through a secure payment process on our website.
When payment has been received we will send you an email confirming your purchase.
A full refund or credit of classes and workshop fees paid will be offered if KACC cancels any workshop or class prior to the start date. You will be notified of any such refunds at least 48 hours prior to the start date.
If a participant has to cancel due to an emergency you can apply to us for a refund or credit. This needs to be received within 7 days of scheduled start date. These are considered on an individual basis.
