It never ceases to amaze me how engrossed the children get in making their art. On Monday this week I taught them how to make pompoms and do finger knitting. I expected that after a couple of pompoms the children would be itching for something more but the range of colours - and the variety of textures kept them persevering until they made their very best pompom.

Andrew the child who mastered finger knitting first, also came to my rescue with tying off the pompoms, as many had wrapped the wool too tightly around their fingers. So art and craft leads to refined problem-solving skills as well as creativity. Andrew is shown below modelling his finger knitted headband that began as a bracelet - well done.

Helen admitted that making pompoms was a secret passion of hers and extended our creativity by sharing her formula for making extra large, multi-coloured pompoms, as shown below.
