What a fantastic way to raise money for our heat pump, with Tony Gamboni's mind boggling and very entertaining quiz. The art section began easily yet quickly became quite obscure, fortunately for my team I knew of Whistler's Mother. The sports round had no time for netball, rugby or cricket. Instead we considered stone skipping, 84 is the record, haggis hurling and elephant polo - which Scotland apparently excel in, maybe while hurling haggis!! Even Sir John Key's eyebrows featured in a question and by that stage "Luminous" was barely holding on to its lead over "A Stroke of Genius" who ultimately won. We hosted eleven teams who all had a great time, with four from external groups like Lions and Karori RSA and the rest representing our painting, camera, craft,and portrait clubs. We raised over $1,900 from ticket sales, raffles and silent auctions and would like to thank the following people for their very generous donations of spot prizes, raffle prizes and items for silent auction.
